To what extent did Stalin influence the development of the Soviet State in the period 1917 to 1941?

Hello there! So you may have already handed this essay in but I’ll reply anyway - though I don’t know exactly too much on this specific topic yet.

So I’ve only just finished how Stalin became dictator in class but I recommend that for your question you take a look into how Stalin was able to transform the Soviet Union from a peasant society into both an industrial and military superpower - though he did do quite a lot of terrible things, he was successful in transforming Russia.
