Failing English, Need Advice
(1/1)
full metal jacket:
Hi, I'm currently a year 12 student at one of the top selective schools in NSW (top 10 schools).
I am doing really well in all my subjects so far except English Advanced, I am 10 marks below average (I'm on 20/40 while average is 30/40). 40% of my internals for English are already done and we only have 2 more assessments remaining, trials (40%) and another internal (20%). Is it still possible for me to recover and achieve a high band 5?
My school isn't really good at English and we get <40 band 6s a year, but we also get <5 band 4s.

Hey!
Welcome to the forums! Yes, there is still SOOO much room for improvement so you can definitely achieve your goal of a high band 5!! All you need to do is persist on and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! I can't even stress how important this is for English in terms of refining your essays, thesis, creative writing, evidence, etc. The more practice and preparation you do now, during the backend of the HSC you'll feel not as stressed out. This really worked out for me: I started off with a 67 in my first year 12 English Advanced exam and then came out with a 90 in the HSC. Anything is possible!
All the best for the rest of the year :)
