School Captain Speeches

Has anyone got some winning year 12 captain speeches which they could share? Need some inspiration for my own.

I can guarantee you that the 'winning' school captain speech may not have been the best, nor is there a 'standard' for any speech. It really depends on your cohort.

Any specific questions, or something you're struggling with?

Yep, agree with this. I think it depends who you're speaking to, as well - is it a mixed cohort? Just students? Just teachers?

My biggest advice is to not try to be somebody you're not. From memory (which is stretching as we speak), I:

> outlined why I wanted to be school captain (ended up being vice, which actually suits me a lot better tbh)
> explained what I would do in that position
> tried to be pretty casual, but also show that I respected the role

I think what Jimmmy has said above is true - even if somebody posted their full speech word for word, and that worked for them, it certainly doesn't mean it'll work for you!
