Could you guys help me plan my essay

‘Ransom and Invictus explore the idea that in order to break the cycle of grief it is forgiveness, and not revenge which must be pursued.’ Compare how this idea is developed within the texts Ransom and Invictus.

For the prompt, a few main points should be addressed if you agree with it.

Revenge perpetuates the cycle of grief. Use examples that demonstrate the destruction and anguish caused by people seeking vengeance.
Forgiveness restores human enmity as it allows people to start anew. Discuss the scenes which show people that have had their grief or conflict resolved as a result of forgiving another or being forgiven.
Possibly a paragraph which does not entirely agree with the prompt, such as forgiveness can not always be pursued as a consequence of human nature being virulent (bitterly hostile) or because of the difficulty to overcome revenge.

Try to pinpoint the scenes from each text that highlight these points and then decipher what the author/director is saying about the idea. Quoting is essential (it's easy to forget) and is crucial when supporting your arguments. For example "The anguish of Hecuba and Priam caused by Achilles' ruthless reprisal towards Hector demonstrates that pursuing revenge perpetuates the cycle of grief." This sentence delivers your contention but does not have any textual evidence. Therefore, a quote (or explicit reference to a scene) should be used in the subsequent sentence.

Hope this helps.  :)
