the equation of motion

when it says write the equation of motion and we are given the mass and forces.
do we write it as f=ma   or a=f/m?

I've seen it done both ways, just leaving it as F=ma and a=F/m, I assume you can do either as they haven't told you to solve for a.

on the formula sheet on the last page it says

"equation of motion: R=ma" so i think its safest to do it in the form F=ma as thats what they have defined the equation of motion to be
