these are the sorts of things the forum needs....
I spoke to admin a few weeks ago suggesting a FAQ for the site, and was told it was an awesome idea and something that would get done soon....
Good to see you doing something about it! - admin should sticky this or include it in an official faq etc

For anyone using mIRC, I seem to recall that it comes with a good beginner's guide to IRC. I haven't used it in ages, so can't really remmeber.

That's client dependant, each IRC client does it differently. However, most clients use CTRL+B to do Bold, and CTRL+K to change colour.
