Barely passed first HSC English assessment. How does it affect my ATAR?
(1/1)
sulkondez101:
I got around 50% in my first HSC English assessment, is my atar ruined?

I'll keep it short and simple.
I got 45% in one English task. My atar was in the high 90s. So no your atar is NOT ruined.
Identify why you got 50%. Consult your teacher and work really hard to do better next time =)
All the Best!
EDIT: Also let me add I ended up with 85 as my final English mark.

Hey, sulkondez!
Welcome to the forums! Will second this with what DrDusk has said; it's definitely not the be all or end all. Coming from an English tutor's perspective, it's actually quite common for the first assessment to hit a bit like a truck. The shift from Year 11 to 12 content is quite dramatic so you're not the only one going through this. Beyond the mark itself, it's really important you take on feedback and see what areas you should focus on to improve. We're here to help on the forums if you have any questions about the assessment, module or anything related to the subject if you need further assistance :)
