Hi

Um, when for example  tehre is 6 cans, 4 bottles, 8 jugs

the book says u can do it like

6
4
8

was wondering, can i also write it as [4  6  8]....that is horizontal?

and also j/w Im trying to learn matrices in 1 day....only 1 chapter, 12 pages of q's, easy

everyone told me its super easy compared to trig  (my average result in trig is like 30-40%)

Is matrices THAT easy....it looks like its all about + and - LOL??

I would highly recommend not switching modules 1 day before the exam...

I know =(

Well, the thing is, I'll be replacing it over trig....i can barely answer half the trig and geoemtry module. What i'll do is during reading time ill see if the matrices exam is easy....if not ill stick with trig.

Also, if its a matter of me wasting revision time, i plan to complete 1/4 of the chapter 2day and rest 2morrow, my friend only took 2-3 hours to complete it.

Thanks for the advice though.

Hi again, need help plz

Show that the sum of w,x,y, z is given by [w x y z]    1
                                                                         1
                                                                         1                <<<visualise them within a column [ ]
                                                                         1

Represent the average of w x y z in the same way

ANSWER:

[ w x y z ]      1/4
                    1/4
                     1/4
                     1/4

I don't even UNDERSTAND what the question was ASKING.  What did it want me to do?

I think I understand that the AVERAGE is represented by 1/4......but what about the part which asks for the SUM. The sum= add everything together....i didnt see that  occur

please step by step reasoning =(

While you may want to study matrices in one day, are unable to consider that the people you are asking for help are generally themselves using their own "one day" to complete final preparations for their own exam.
Go ahead and study matrices if that is what you want but I agree with ReVeL.

Hm, weird, this site won't function at all if people cannot answer questions. If you see the front page which says how many posts are posted and how many pplz are online you will find it is one of the busiest times of the year as questions and answers are passed.

I did appreciate ReVels advice, and I wholly agree with him.

But I fail to see how your post answers my question =.=

Matrices isn't as easy as plus and minus, and if you've got that impression based on the revision you have done then you've done the wrong work.

As other members have mentioned, it is not suggested that you change modules right now - the best thing to do is to study what you have already done.

All in all, you need to make your own decision - see how you fair with the past exams, and if you decide to swap then that's your choice - there is no wrong or right decision, and we can't say what would be easier and harder to do (if we did, we'd all be getting 50s).

Best of luck.

Could I please just get some help on

how do you know which way a matrice goes...if its horizontal or vertical. I have been unable to move on coz i reached this brick wall.

For example, I am getting the same ANSWER/NUMBER as the back of the book, however they have it vertical, and me horizntal and vice versa

am i wrong? what am i doing different? does it matter?

OMG I want to cry =(

Today I covered i think 60-80 pages about Matrices, a module we didnt study at school.

I plan to have it replace trig and geometry.

Just now I finished the chapter...did the 2009 VCAA Exam 1 section of Matrices....and scored every question correct except 1....and that ONE was an accident, i circled wrong one.

I am so happy :D

And upset, of not having done it for exam one....in trig for exam 1 i think i got 50-60% of THAT module correct =(.....dam dam dam
