Chem Vs Phys?

Apparantly chem is a lot harder than physics? Why is chem so hard? It seems to be quite easy from my experience. There is little theory to it and just need to apply some knowledge at year 11. Is it significantly different in year 12? (Our school gives NEAP+STAV tests)

Physics 3/4 is basically consolidating most of the knowledge you learned from 1/2. Chem 3/4 is just insane, it's like 1/2 but wayy harder and extra stuff thats even harder. I think chem is a lot, like heaps harder than spesh.
You cant really compare Chem 1/2 to 3/4. I did chem olympiad and was very good at chem in yr 11, yet im struggling in yr 12.

Basically: DONT DO CHEM!!!!

All I can say is: do physics.

Seriously....
Would I lie? What dont you understand from what I sed?
Chem gets a lot harder and a lot more boring, the stuff you learn about isnt half as interesting as yr 11 and that also contributes to the reason why its harder, a lot less ppl try and are interested in even learning the course. I find chem boring and hard this year, its that simple. A lot of kids in my class view it the same way.

Yr 12 chem has put me off for life, in yr 11 I was considering doing a course in uni with chem, now im definitely not. Basically last year I loved chem maybe more than physics, this year, I hate it sooo much.

Also don't do physics you won't learn anything except for a few right hand and left hand rules. Physics is like the Further Maths of the science subjects.

Chem is a lot more interesting than physics. Physics is so damn hard to understand.

Physics is wayyyy easier than Chem. Chem you actually have to understand the stuff, in Physics all you need is a cheat sheet with all the formulas rearranged in every possible combination+theory and yeah...win.

Although I strongly feel that VCE physics doesn't test real physics ability and is strongly watered down, it provides a basis (albeit simplified) for understanding the way in which the world works. The course itself isn't hard - you either understand it, or you don't, and if you comprehend the concepts you won't find it hard. However, you've got to realise that most of the people who take physics enjoy the subject - it's not a prerequisite for too many degrees.

I'm only doing 1/2 Chemistry, but 3/4 Chemistry seems quite analytical. I'm not sure why most people find it so difficult, but keep in mind that a lot of people who take Chemistry only study it because it's a prerequisite for the health sciences. This means that you have a lot of people who may not enjoy the subject studying it so that they can pursue specific careers. I know that this happens a lot at my school - there are students attaining 40%s in 1/2 with the intention of undertaking the subject next year because they want to be doctors. This might be why Chemistry's developed a reputation for being "hard" - some of the students who study it don't have an interest and struggle with the concepts. On the other hand, it does seem to require a little more understanding than physics at VCE level...
