Hey guys just wondering what are some of the definitions which are quite important to know.

obviously knowing Health and Development is necessary to answer any question but are there any re-occuring ones or ones you believe are essential

hpak:
From memory:
Life expectancy, healthy life expectancy, mortality rates, U5MR, morbidity, burden of disease and disability, DALY, YLL, YLD, medicare, growth vs development, developing country, developed country, globalisation, definitions of nutrients.

That's all I can think of right now. Might add to that

Heiby:
-sustainable primary health care
-primary health care

I always have so much trouble with those ones.
How do you define them anyway? any tips on remembering their different elements?

bit of confusion between these

the elements of primary health care are disease control, health education, curative care, water and sanitation, essential drugs, maternal and child health, immunisation and food and nutrition.

whereas the elements of sustainable primary healthcare are those questions on page 368 of the text, sustainable, focus on women. focus on education etc.

text doesnt seperate these two well!
