Class wise, we are up to AOS 1 finishing Magnetic Fields. (We have a SAC in less than 2 weeks woop woop)
We did all of AOS 3 in Term 1 and since Term 2 has started we went through Gravitational Fields and Electric Fields.
(Heinemann chapters done 1,2,5,6,7 and this week we are doing chapter 3 (all in one lesson) then moving straight to chapter 4 (Induction))

Where I'm at as an independent learnerFinishing off Unit 4 light and matter😊 (Last Chapter in Heinemann). I'm literally just doing practise exams in my spare time or helping friends by making some challenging questions for them to try (cause the exam questions are quite repetitive). My class is quite independent and love learning new things so I assume most of us have already finished Unit 3 and moving on to Unit 4.

If only I could be that productive during quarantine...

How helpful do you find working ahead? I'm just following my teacher's pace atm but I know a lot of people in my cohort are up to unit 4 already and it's making me kinda stressed rippp. :-\

Hey milanander! ;D

For me personally, I learn ahead just because I actually love learning about Physics. I really like the conceptual and experimental part of this subject, and I would rather have class discussions about the limitations of the new concepts rather than learning new material for the first time? (I hope that makes sense).

Learning at the same pace as the teacher is 100% ok 8), just so long as you are engaging with what they are talking about (I struggled to engage properly when I don't know the content which is why I like to learn the basics when I have time). It's probably personal choice in the end and what makes you feel the most comfortable in the classroom.
Hope that helps!

My class just finished AOS3 (motion) and started electric fields - we've already done gravitational fields though - SAC on this in about 3 weeks  :D

EDIT: In regards to learning ahead (as much as I would like to be more ahead - ashmi teach me your ways) I'm just staying with my teachers pace for this subject, as I find that if I'm too ahead, I get bored with what my teachers saying too quickly. That being said, I do try and go over the classes content before it is taught (like the night before lol) so I do have some background info and dont get too lost.
