bio without 1 and 2?

hi guys
so basically i got accepted into units 1 and 2 of bio, HHD and psychology and can only choose one of these subjects for yr 10. which subject do u guys think needs unit 1 and 2 the most??? my first preference is bio but if units 1 and 2 is not that important then im not rlly sure. what r ur opinions??

Congratulations on your offers! I am currently studying year 12 this year and to say the least Biology isn't my favourite subject... The jump from units 1 and 2 to 3/4 is ridiculous the content gets about 10x harder (at least for me). I don't want to put you off but every subject has its ups and downs and every person is different. I'd say that pick Bio if you are passionate about it because HHD and Psycology are pretty easy to pick up in 3/4. Best of luck

Can't speak for HHD and Psych as I didn't study them but from my experience 1/2 Bio wasn't particularly relevant to 3/4 Bio. There's a bit of overlap but in my opinion you can learn any key concepts needed that you might have learnt in 1/2 at the start of 3/4.

The only thing that is prominent in U1/2 psych for U3/4 is research methods. But even research methods is retaught in Year 12. Everything else either is not needed or retaught so you can definitely pick it up from 3/4

I don't think any of them seriously need the 1/2 units that much. If you are going to end up doing all three of those units anyway I would say do biology in year 10/11 (although units 1/2 aren't really relevant).
