Preference help (Engineering)

Hey everyone,

I have decided that I'd like to pursue either software engineering or mechatronics engineering at uni however I'm slightly unsure as to where I should go. I live relatively close to RMIT, UniMelb and Swinburne however I have also considered Monash.

Could anyone give me any pointers as to where I should begin when it comes to choosing a Uni for either of these specialisations? Also please comment on any experiences at any of these Universities!
