Toning Exercises

does anyone know any good exercises on how to improve toning skills. i lack in this area and i did 08 exam today and realised that they are worth 4 marks each, 4 x 3.. so 12 marks :S..

I generally stick with the traditional light medium dark
Tone is all about where the lights and shades are. Where the direction of light is coming from is where it is most lightest and the darkest section is where there is hardly any light.

Also try getting a lamp and move the object around, play around with the brightness

RENDERING - high chance that this will be on the exam this year. I don't think it has been on the exams for a while.
Wouldn't be surprised if they asked you to render an object and add tone to it.

Make sure you know a few materials: wood, steel, etc
