Help! YR11 flame test prac report!!!!
(1/1)
pans:
Hello,
I am writing up a prac report for chemistry 1/2 (experiment is 'flame test'). IM REALLY STUCK ON THE CONCLUSION! CAN SOMEONE PLS HELP ME ASAP!

Hey,
What was your aim? Your conclusion should address that.

Hello, my aim is 'to observe the effect of different salts on the flame colour and how it relates to Bohr's Model. To observe emission spectra on different element lamps'. Im really confused on how I should summarise my findings for the emission spectra (sodium, mercury, neon) and how can I relate that to Bohr's model.

Use the level of knowledge your school has covered, but consider:
- what colour was each flame?
- what does this tell us about the difference between the ground and excited state for the electrons? was it the same for each element?
(this is relating it to Bohr's model, the key part of which is that electrons are at specific energy levels / orbits )
Bohr's model is very very tied in with emission and absorption spectra so if you're a bit unsure doing a little more reading on that might help :)
