I was just wondering if values can be saved into a scientific calculator to be used later on? The calculator I have is Sharp EL-531VH.

any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Well they didn't check/erase our calcs in mid-years so I don't see why not. But I'm not too sure

ohh no, what I mean is, say for example we calculate a mol value that will be needed for a section later in the question, however there are some more calculations we must do in between. is there any way to store the exact value so that it doesn't have to be re-calculated later on?

don't think so... it would come in real handy though -_-
but you can always press the left arrow... but that gives you the numbers that you originally typed into your calc.. not the answer.
thats as far as the memory goes with scientifics. i think

unless you get that new green texas calc lol its pretty nifty =]

you should try and get a hold of the TEXAS TI-30XIIB scientific calculator before your exam, if its really that important to you, it enables the user to store up to 6 values as variables and use them in another equation.

I just write the value down. Or if it's just in the next step use the "ANS" function

My blue casio (can't be bothered checking) has a store and recall function.
should be about $20 at kmart or officeworks (or anything in between)

hmm, i think i'll just stick with the one i've got, and i'll just have to write the exact value and retype it. i don't want to have to worry about getting used to a new one by thursday :p

but thanks heaps guys! good luck on thursday!

Your calc should have some sort of M+ function for storing things into memory. My scientific personally had lots of letters on it, so after writing answers down on the paper, often I'd write letters such as X, Y, Z, M in the margin to remind myself which letter I stored that number into. Saved a lot of time in the end once I developed the habit as it meant I didn't have to repeat entire chunks of calculations to get certain exact values back (and I was very OCD about having to use the exact value each time).
