Collin Li:
One point where experience becomes a negative metric is when you understand the material so well that it is ingrained into your memory by rote (whether you like it or not), and you forget how you procedurally generated that memory back in year 12 (i.e.: how you recalled memories) -- these usually make the best memory/study tips and tricks!
That said, one man's silly memory trick might just be stupid for someone else.

lol one of the most important parts of my exam technique is from a teacher, don't underestimate experience - their exams decade ago are essentially the same thing as exams today.

Take for example, the VCAA exams. In 1990 they didn't have multi choice but now they do. Its already a very important skill to develop.
kyzoo:
Hmm ok, but what makes you think someone knows how to handle something professionally just because they went through it. It's true that a person will gain a bit of insight into performing MCQ exams if they just did one, but there will be more effective methods that these people would not have conceived. You don't learn just by doing, you also learn by taking conscious efforts to educate yourself and expose yourself to new ideas.
And in what 1990's VCAA exam do they not have multiple choice?

I have no idea kyzoo. That is just what I think and still unsure whether a teacher or a student is better.
The biol ones don't I'm not sure about the rest lol.
