i got the addition of water   ??? wbu?

because conc of product decrease, collision decrease,  back rate decrease.

more product formed, less reactant present, reactant concentration decreases so forward reaction gradually decreases

well the limit can turn into a threshold..

The answer is either the removal of product, or apparently the addition of a base.

I put neither of them, so meh.

If dilution, concnetration of all species decreases, hence, the rate of the forward reaction should also decrease instantaneously, just by a differing amount i think. Back reaction will gradually increase to patrially oppose the change. Anyway, explaining it was the main part, which I screwed up :(

I said removal of reactant as well, as after the change the rate of the back reaction increased while that of the forward reaction decreased? :S

How can it be removal of product, if u remove the product it'll shift forward, and the rate of forward reaction would increase. But it didnt, it decreased.
