I got an offer for a scholarship and my ENTER wasn't 99.95... it depends on the course! (mine was for arts/education, which was my 12th preference... thanks Monash it's the thought that counts >_>)

I didn't go to the meeting in the city because I knew I wasn't going to accept that scholarship, since I'd made the cut-off for my 3rd preference.

This is the course I got a scholarship to: http://www.monash.edu.au/study/coursefinder/course/1641/domestic-requirements.html

You'll get scholarship offers from Monash even if it's not your top preference... I did.

DAMN!! just called up Monash and no one know what im talking about! they said i have to get the name of the scholarship then they can help me. "mark_alec" u know what is the name for the scholarship?
It'll depend what your preferences are as to what the scholarship is. For .95 kids, it's the "Scholarship in Excellence" I believe, for engineering "Scholarship for Excellence in Engineering", or something like that.

The process isn't one you need to worry about, if you've applied for scholarships through VTAC, Monash will contact you if awarded.

Usually these scholarships are taken by the 99.99+ people.  But yes, as Mark said, if you are successful you will get notified by the respective university and if you're lucky enough, you might also get to be on the 6 o'clock news.

Not all the scholarships are taken by 99.95ers. All the 99.90/99.95 people have their separate type of scholarship (Scholarship of Merit/Excellence), so they won't be taking other faculty-specific scholarships like the Engineering/Education scholarship.

I have heard of 98.5-ers getting the Engineering Excellence scholarship.
ENTER 99.95

The only application you needed to do was to tick the box in your VTAC application to accept scholarships from Monash. If you have a preference for a course there that offers scholarships (like engineering) and your ENTER is high enough, they will phone you on results day at about 10am notifying you about it.

The $6K/year scholarships last for the length of your course.

what box == i just applied for scholarships via VTAC apps i dont remember ticking any boxes ==.

EDIT: yea i see the box now lols

O yea do get any scholarships for your 2nd or 3rd preferences if didnt get into frist preference course.?

What, where's the box?

I can't find it either.

Does anyone know where it is?

What if you get a scholarship and you're taking a gap year? Can you defer it?

Some scholarships you can, some can't.  You'll have to check with the institution for more details.

Monash University Support Bursaries

There's also faculty specific ones such as "Monash University Engineering Scholarships", which has the same requirements as the "Excellence and Equity" scholarships + you must apply to an Eng degree.

There's many other specific scholarships on offer aswell (ie "Women in Engineering Bursaries").

Here's the link of all the undergrad scholarships http://www.adm.monash.edu/scholarships/opportunities/faculty/engineering-excellence-award.html

If anyone wants any info on other uni scholarships I'm pretty sure I can dig some info up, just let me know.

Yeah I was asking about the box where you apparently select that you want to be considered for Monash scholarships. I think I ticked some box on VTAC where it had a list of universities or something, and I thought I'd automatically be considered for the Monash scholarships after that, but was there something where you had to specifically tick Monash?

There's actually two eng specific ones (3 including the female specific one).

One needs 98+ min, the other needs 95+ mins! (Monash University Engineering Scholarships)
