Electioneering:
oh! thanks for clearing that up!

i can see how studio arts is very directed. in our work brief we had to create a 'plan' in regards to our folio; sort of like a timetable of what we should be doing week by week. the subject actually seems very structured and orderly now that i think about it...

bec:
on another note....i'm looking for an artist of influence who uses "mise en abyme" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mise_en_abyme) to put in my folio. it's like that whole idea of a picture in a picture, or the effect you get when you stand between two mirrors and they infinitely reflect. does anyone know of an artist like this?

cathtacular:
studio art and art are different. your required to produce 3 final products in studio and you dont have to produce any in art, in studio you also have to write a statement of intention and know what your going to do.. like you said but also a lot of schools doing art also stick with the one theme and produce numerous solutions or may just resolve them in their folio and not physically produce the artwork.  at the moment we should kind of have a direction and im looking at movement depicted in a still frame but im looking at dance to show this. we are still told that we dont know what were doing so its hard to keep trying to resolve something for another 2 terms because i feel im already to the point where there is nothing left to resolve... if that makes sense.

Rosie:
Hi, I'm doing art this year too. My theme is "flowers" and I'm already half-way through my first visual diary. Although I still feel like I havent done that much work and am behind.

I just wanted to ask if anyone could give me further advice on what things I need to include in my visual diary to get an A+ folio.

Thanks

Electioneering:
o hai rosie! i'd like to request kids by MGMT... thnx! (sorry)

it's quality over quantity, but maybe you could do a million different variations on each of your possible solutions? maybe try to expand on your theme and find a deeper meaning or something as well. you may be able to explore many more other ideas...

for a final, someone should produce an installation featuring themselves, much like http://www.tate.org.uk/tateshots/episode.jsp?item=13043. i hate examiners.
