3/4 without 1/2 - any tips

Hey

So I am picking up 3/4 without 1/2. yes i know suicide.

but never the less.

Any specific procedure you would suggest to go about to prepare myself.

Which topics to cover properly and what to skip because they might not be in the yr 12 course?

Thanks

I wouldnt suggest there is something 'particular' to cover.
I did Unit 3/4 Physics Math Methods CAS this year, however had done Unit 1/2 the previous year.

Judging from my experience and how I went, I feel and strongly suggest for you to, take up your
Yr 12 Text (Try Heinemann) and just start at it.

If you seriously find too many issues, find a tutor, or otherwise we're all here too help eachother,
so post it up online.

For the part of your question of what follows through into Yr 12 Course, Im preety sure
it's the Area of Study Motion, and Electronics. (Electronics, is very very basic in Unit 1/2).

Give it your best!

It's not suicide, but there's definitely things that you need to know. Make sure that you can do basic maths (such as quadratics and logarithms), and here's a list of things to look at from the 1/2 course:

Motion:
+ Kinematic equations
+ Hooke's Law
+Conservation of Energy
+ Momentum (conservation, impulse)
+Newton's Laws
+Vector Diagrams for net forces
+Equilibrium

Electricity:
+Ohm's Law
+The basic concepts of Voltage (as potential difference) and Current

Light:
+ Know what reflection, refraction and diffraction are (just definitions, so it shouldn't be too difficult)

Electromagnetism:
+ Know how to draw field lines on simple bar magnets (although I'm not sure if this is even covered in the 1/2 course, but it wouldn't hurt...)

Try doing a few questions, and check your answers online and with the solutions in the book. Be aware of the different ways in which things can be described (such as Force as the change of momentum over time, or in relation to potential energy). Good luck! Don't worry too much... if you do a bit of preparation, you'll be fine! :)
