well, I guess monokekie will have to change her attitude towards work. Its just, you cant expect to graduate and find a rewarding job without putting in the hard yards.

Also, engineering requires higher level maths than high school.

The reason why people don't recommend biomed is that you don't seem suited to it. It is the pathway for graduate health courses (medicine, dentristy, physiotheraphy), all *highly* competitive courses with huge amounts of work. Or it will take you into more research, also *huge* amounts of work.

i like food, shopping, watching TV and flip through some novels :)

i really enjoy chem but as Ninwa said it doesn't lead to high $... and i don't get why people don't recommend biomed  :(

Don't forget about chem based on one person's opinion. Why wouldnt you be able to make a lot of money with a major in chemistry? What about chemical engineering? Highest paid engineers in australia if your willing to do some maths.
If you are looking at money, you probably wouldn't get much from a BSc majoring in Chemistry. But if you do enjoy it and decide to go on to do further study you would most like get better $$

For Monokekie to become a chemical engineer, he will need to do an engineering degree. You could try engineering, but it takes a lot of work that is usually boring and if you don't enjoy it, you will hate engineering.

um yeah chem! i did consider doing science but my parents always teases me -"scientist"- which sounds quite vague and a bit "silly" on me, well, it just feels weird.

Your parents aren't that supportive.

People who do a science degree, see it as a passion and don't see studying it as a chore. Same thing with an arts degree.

Biomedicine is for people who are considering a career in the health area. It's a very competitive degree that requires a lot of study if you are going to try and do a graduate degree in some health field.

I would recommend you try a commerce degree. The maths isn't too bad (if you hate maths stay away from actuarial studies and econometrics), you can do finance, accounting, etc.

Any degree you do requires a lot of writing.

I changed my number one preference from commerce to science during the last period of preference changing after ENTER scores were released.  8-)

I think Science might be more flexible. I've heard many stories of people with science degrees managing businesses.

You shouldn't be asking what is better, but what is better for you.

Ahmad choose to do a BSc (In maths) over a BComm and it was probably the best decision he made, since he really enjoys his maths.

Nobody has actually said that science is better than commerce.
