Because it is in Canberra. Canberra is really cold and kind of in the middle of nowhere :(

Melbourne Arts is ranked far more highly and is more popular but Monash offers a wider range of subject I believe.

2010- Economics (50) English (44) Literature (38) Introductory Microeconomcis (86) Introductory Macroeconomics (75)

It depends on whether you want to do breadth subjects or not.

It's 6 degrees in Copenhagen right now. In the grand scheme of things, Canberra really isn't that cold :P (Plus it's less wet than Melbourne in the winter.)
Middle of nowhere bit is unfortunately quite true though. Mind you, it's only really a problem when bands are touring Australia and you have to make the 3-hour trek up to Sydney for the concert.

Things to help you decide on the uni:
1) What subjects are you interested in?
2) How easy is it to get to each uni?
3) Where do you want to go after you BA?

Some would say yes, some would say no. It depends on what you want to do afterwards.

The band thing is one of the biggest reasons why I wouldn't want to move to Canberra. And even if it isn't as cold as Copenhagen, it's still colder than Melbourne :P
