This particular brand of question is annoying. Can someone clarify this please.
I have a cone which is filled to half its height. The ratio of water to empty space is?
I reason :

then for a volume ratio:
. Water takes up one part of the whole.

. Is this correct?

Yeah, for half the height of a cone, the volume is one-eighth
So there is one part water to seven parts empty space
