BACHELOR OF ARTS, how, pray tell, does it run exactly?!?!!?

I am getting way too confused with all this breadth study and points and majors and minors stuff, I just can't seem to get how it works! Can someone please tell me in simple language how the course runs lol? I'm on the verge of pulling my hair out with all this course stuff lol

Oh and what can you do with just an arts degree? say you don't get into a masters or something?

You do 4 courses each semester.
1 of these subjects must be breadth (i.e. not offered by the arts faculty).

Over the 3 years, 7 of your courses have to be from the same discipline. This is called a major.

As for jobs: things like editing, publishing, writing, public service, librarianship, teacher, academia... also there are a bunch of other things you can do depending on your major.

Ok thanks for that! And so when it says it requires the successful completion of 300 points, and that each major is worth 100 points, so does that mean you get 100 points for each year? or 100 points in total over the 3 years :S

each subject is 12.5 points, thats 50 points per semester and 100 points per year.

i'm not sure about the arts, but in science the majors are usually 4 subjects so 50points in your third year.

i would imagine you can change your major until right before your about to do it..? (start of 3rd year)

You won't be asked to say what your major is before graduation. You just have to make sure you fill the requirements of a major before then.

what so you mean you have to choose your subjects and make sure they fulfill the major requirements? its not just "i want a major in psych with these breadth subjects"?

Pretty much. You choose all the subjects you want and at the end they look at it and see which major(s) you've completed. You could probably do all first-year subjects for your entire degree if you wanted, but it's up to you to pick subjects which will get you your desired major.

You wouldn't be allowed to do that as have to complete a minimum number of credit points at all levels.

Oh ok. So so far I'm doing a BA with a major in psychology. In first year, you have to complete 8 subjects right. 2 of them are breadth, 2 are that IDF or whatever, and for Psych it seems that only 2 are your major, so what are the other 2? :S

I'm guessing the other 2 would be for another minor/major sequence.
