Radiology info please?

RADIOGRAPHER: 4 year degree technician (salary ranges from 40k to 100k). Often known as the "button pusher".

RADIOLOGIST: 5 years medicine + 1 year intern + few years registrar + 5/6 years of specialist school (at least 12 years of education). There's no such thing as a masters that makes a doctor a radiologist straight away. They're very smart specialists. Salary ranges from (80k-500k+). More difficult to get into radiology than general practice medicine. I have seen a few jobs being advertised for a million dollars per year as well.

I realise that this is a very old thread but it made my eyes sore seeing people get really confused. Hope that straightens things out.

there is actually a master of medicine (radiology) degree, although this can only be offered to students who have already been accepted into a radiology speciality training program after becoming a doctor hah.

Because yes, ninwa is correct "Radigraphers" start at $35k a year, and the job is assist the
radiologist.. however the "Radiologist" starts at $50k a year and can get upto $450k -  $500k
a year by end of career. [I know this data, as my aunty is a radiologst, however she doesn't know how to
