First day of uni

Hey guys,

Tomorrow is the first day of uni (well for me the first day of second year). Anyway I just want to make a thread for UoM students (mainly first year students) can use to talk about settling into uni life or ask questions about uni.

Tomorrow MOST classes will be just introducing the lecturer and the lecture won't go too much into starting the syllabus, so bring a pen and an exercise book (Check the LMS for any lecture notes that you can download and print). DON'T bring textbooks to uni unless you want to break your back or don't have far to travel.

Anyway don't stress about tomorrow, welcome to uni and best of luck.

Cheers Quantum.  Good luck to you too.

I've printed off some lecture slides from the first lecture of Calculus 1 and I'm just thinking, "We're meant to cover all that in one lecture?!"

Guess with only 12 weeks to cover the everything, the pace has got to be extremely fast.

This is sort of breaking the mood, but I have no lecture notes to download for Real Analysis or Quantum Mechanics.

Meh. I don't mind if they don't upload lecture notes before the lecture...I'll just scribble whatever in lectures and then annotate the notes later :)
