First SAC confirmation on procedure

Ok just making sure i am doing this right basic gravametric problem: finding the mass of sulfate as a percentage in fertiliser
We have a fertiliser add HCl and heat
adding barium chloride we then have a precipitate (hopefully  ) of barium sulfate
1. find the mass of sulfate ions after finding the mass of barium sulfate precipitate (give a quick explanation)
2.  Then determine the percentage by mass of sulfate in fertiliser (not too sure how to do that as i dont know what the fertiliser is atm)
3.then determine the percentage by mass of sulfur (as sulfate ) in fertiliser (which i thought was the same as last question but apparently not)

So guys just a quick explanation cheers really dont want to get it wrong

No.2 is finding hte percentage by mass of SO4, no.2 is just S, different molar mass. Maybe?
