are uni students legally allowed to pre-read prac materials and do some research on it. would highlighting experimental procedures using highlighters and writing notes next to some unfamiliar terms be considered as cheating?

Lol what. Most lab tutors want you to pre-read anyway and I dont know about melbourne but at monash they don't check your manual they check your log book.

Or you can even write up part of the report at home and bring it to labs and fill in results
