I actually remember that prac very well

You had to examine the termite's gut flagellates. First, hold its body with forceps so it doesn't run away, then with a razor, slice off the head. Then roll it over and squish out the guts, then prepare the microscope slide. What fun

But I think this happens in semester 2, along with knocking out Drosophila with chloroform.
