Ethical Principals In Brain question

I'm having a bit of trouble with this..

Question:
Define the meaning of each of the following ethical principals or practices (i did that) and explain their relevance in the conduct of psychological research on the brain.

a. protection and security of participant confidentiality
b. voluntary participation

etc etc (list goes on)

I'm confused about the 'explain their relevance'...what information do i include? Is it like 'how is this principal applied?'

We're doing that AOS last but i'd say its just asking you why they must uphold those ethics.
Vouluntary participation is .... (definition). It must be voluntary because people should have the right to... blah blah blah..

They want you to be specific in regards to brain research. So basically, if you we're say doing research on Broca's Area, how would these ethical principles apply to such research. This is actually the sort of questions you would get in a VCE exam.

You need to do it specific to brain research.

For example, it is important for participants to voluntarily participate, and in the case that they are brain damaged, that their legal guardian consents for them to take part in the research.
