Molar mass formula

The formula for calculating mass in grams is mass in g (m) = amount in mol (n) x Molar mass (M)

The amount can be calculated by n = m/M

So is the molar mass is calculated by M = m/n ? or is it M = n/m ?

it's M=m/n, just rearrange the n=m/M formula for M :)

Also, remember to think about what each of the letters mean, it can help ALOT when having to memorise formulae. In this instance think: If we have a known mass and also know how many moles are in that mass how would we find the mass for one mole. Also consider the units required.

eg ; so 5 mole in 15 grams

So in one mole there will be

its always useful to do what i call a 'unit check'  the units for MOlar mass is g/mol   so therefore the formula for molar mass would be mass/no of moles , not  the other way around
