peeps,

anyone know how much that tan graph we had to draw was worth?

1 mark.
glad it wasn't more, someone completely forgot the 1/2 bit when drawing it ^_^

Oh question:
For the last one I am sure I had tan x = (-14 ? 18 )/ 8 sqrt 2, tan x = 4/8 sqrt 2 because it has to be +ve, after that I am not too sure what I did
Would I get 1 or 2 marks for getting tan x in an unsimplified form, and trying to draw a triangle to find sin x but completely stuffing up everything past there (I think (4 rt 2)^2 ended up being 64 x_X)

Im feeling shitty, not because i think ive dropped about 5 marks on this exam, but because if ive dropped 5 marks on "Exam 1" imagine how much i'd  drop on exam 2

are we supposed to draw the tan graph with asymptote at -pi/2
and also the part of the graph at the left of the asymptote?

x/2 - pi/4 = Arctan[y]

And we know the range of Arctan[y].

-pi/2 <= Arctan[y] <= pi/2
-pi/2 <= x/2 - pi/4 <= pi/2
-pi/2 <= x <= 3pi/2

On the final question, how many marks will i get for drawing the tan2x triangle, and then using both cos2x and sin2x to make up a simultaneous equation that would have eventually given me sinx, if i hadnt run out of time.

Also, did anyone else find that to be rather lengthy compared to previous years :P?

gl all with exam 2

i think definently 1 mark, 2 marks depence where u up 2 in your working
i didnt think u need sin2x, just use cos2x = 1-sin^2(x)

and exam2 is ages away

dy/dx ='d 3 at the given point... so y=3x+c , then sub the p(2,3) for x,y

3=3(2)+c
3=6+c
c=-3

soooo

y=3x-3
=3(x-1)
