We spoke a little about movies i'd seen recently (because avatar had just come out, and she really liked it)... and just stuff along those lines. I'm fairly certain she didnt ask anything about family...
It wasnt formal... but i think it MAY have been recorded (my memory is shocking isnt it?)...

It probably was recorded... my speaking exam last semester was recorded... it's not like they go back and analyse it though, I think they may just listen to a couple as a way for them to cross-check their standards (like... one sensei may think a student is awesome, but another may find them average).

you think I should make prepare or "mentally-script" in my head those questions to ensure I dont stutter or give a bad impression of being a block trying to think what to say o_o" like have a bit of a script of what I do in hols
(isnt the assesment during term 4 dec-time-ish?) and my family/hobbies etc? O_o or is it really worth it or that hard?
RavenclawNerd:
You can try to mentally script if you want... lol. it couldnt hurt... just try to think of the things you might want to talk about, and make sure you know all the vocab... stuttering is okay... i know i did! i wouldnt worry about it too much though.
The assessment was on the 14th of january (i just went to check...). We found out whether or not we got in later on that night... (i got the email at half past 4).
Furbob:
okay :) do you know if most people who try out generally get in? how many applicants would there be?
ahh I feel like i've hurt my chances a bit~! ><" In English I usually average an A~B in assessed work however on my exam I basically flopped big time... and got a C (my worst exam mark ever) which will appear on my report :'(
I'm also contesting with my Chemistry teacher to reassess my exam since im 1% off a B+ but other than that I received A+~A's on my other exams
Will a C and (possibly) B on my report hurt my chances of getting in when Monash looks at my report?
also, in Japanese my friend got an A+ whilst I got an A >:( are A's still good enough for MUEP Japanese?
RavenclawNerd:
i cant say for certain if most people get in or not sorry... i dont know how many people applied...
good job on all your A+/A's! And a B in Chemistry isnt bad at all!
I hate english... its a stupid subject... i've never done very well in it... lol!
Shouldnt hurt your chances of getting in though...
When i was applying i read somewhere about the marks you should be getting to get into the class... have you been on the Monash website? either that or it was in a booklet of some kind... i cant remember what marks they want you to be getting in japanese, but an As would be fine i think...
