VCE French/Other Language on Exchange

<< < (2/2)

GerrySly:
My friend did French 3/4 after spending a year in France and got 35 with zero work in class. So going from no french to fluent in a year and getting a 35 without maintaining the language. I reckon if you put in some effort it'd defs be possible

IntoTheNewWorld:
If you make the most of your exchange, it'll probably be easily done (You have early high school french?) LOTE taught in high school in VCE is veryyyyyy stretched out, and can be easily crammed into a short period of time.

vexx:
ohh thanks both of you, that's definitely a confidence booster!

ben92:
My trip was incredible - it changed my perspective on everything. As time went on it got less about learning French and more about discovering the world.

My French rocketed. I was on like a C when I left and topped the cohort when I got back. I got accepted into Uni French, although distance meant I couldn't realistically hope to do it.

On the other hand, one 10-monther I know didn't even get a 40. *Everything* depends on how you make the most of your trip, and how over-confident you are when you get back.

One thing you could expect is that it might take 2-3 months before you start to improve rapidly. Before that, you're still developing the foundations etc.
