Unit 3 Physics Exam 2010

It's soon and was wondering what u guys think will happen this year. Easy exam or hard exam? Last years Exam 1 was apparently really easy. 3 marks was cut-off apparently..? You think the trend will continue or they will give us a really hard exam this year?

i want a harder exam, so the cutoffs wont be ridiculously as high. i can never get a perfect score on an exam so im screwed if its anything like last year -.-

It's going to be a bit harder this year. My UMEP teacher is involved in writing the exams, and that's coming from him.

Then again, it'd be pretty difficult to write an easier exam...

@AzureBlue, I didn't get my Statement of Marks, but seeing as my derived score wasn't used despite topping my school's SACs and a good GAT, I'd say probably.

My teacher thinks it's going have more "explain" questions this year as there is criticism regarding whether students actually understand the physics or can just plug numbers in formulas..

It's safe to say this years will be harder.

Motion will be a similar format, like projectile motion, momentum and inelastic/elastic collisions, circular motion, maybe an inclined plane question with tension force between two bodies. Whether it's more explanation or not... well I am not sure that is a valid assumption, the trend seems to be more calculation and explanation can be done with words and formulae

Last year there were: 14 questions on motion, 11 questions on electronics and 13 questions on detailed study.

This year: 20 motion questions, 11 electronics and 12 detailed study.

I think everyone's wish is true and it's gonna be hard!!!!!
