Probably bad =/ and omg as if you don't give me a taxi ride -.-

1) yea.....need to work faster >.<
2) dude, i gave you one last week, AND i was alredy giving jen, joyce and xia a lift. I couldn't ditch jen (for obvious reasons) i i don't ditch jen, i can't ditch joyce, so it comes down to you and xia, you guys fight it out, that OR you convince the taxi driver to let you ride in the boot ;)

Hahaha it's cool I got a lift from Kik anyway.

I just work cover to cover normally. Seems to be working fine so far. Don't you find it a little disconcerting to be jumping around everywhere like a Mexican jumping bean, andrewloppol?
Not really, if you're just doing the questions in different order. You lose time if you keep changing questions after you've started them.

That's the strategy I do. Doing the ones you're most comfortable with (and which would be the ones you're fastest at doing) helps to gauge how much time you have left for the ones you're not as sure about. Then coming back to them, you've got the time pressure relieved off you so it's easier to think clearly and not make mistakes on these harder questions. My typical routine would be to do all the easy SAQs, then breeze through the MCQ, then go back to the hard SAQs. Most exams involve me going from cover to cover at least 3 times before I've answered every question due to how I prioritise.

Really depends I guess. Like obviously you are a bright student and what you find hard is probably just 1 question. But for an average guy, they might need to skip like 5 questions and to keep jumping back and forth, looking through, making sure you've answered every question each time you filled in a blank can be quite time wasting. Just my opinion.

I thought you were applying the TSFX technique. The lady said, on the first time through the paper skip any question you can't complete at your "fast pace". lol

Nope, there's usually a good 5 or so MCQs that I'd skip, and another 5 or so SAQs. I think it's just that my definition of 'fast pace' differs from others - I pretty much don't stop writing except for reading the question when I go through the paper the first time (during which I visualise the process and answer). There's not really any idle thinking time involved whatsoever.

Oh I actually like the idea of doing multi choices in reading time!

This is really really good. I can knock dowb pretty much all of them and then just circle them when starting. This takes 1 minute at best (the circling). This means i have what should be 30 mins under my belt already!

Is that allowed? I hope so cos it would give more time to other areas :)

No it isn't. You just do them mentally. You don't have to remember the answers coz when you go back to the question you remember what you were doing and the answer pops into your head.

Our teacher told us to fingernail them...  It is so good.  You can knock off all the theory crap before you've even started writing...

You're probably smart enough to be able to do it in your head haha. I can't take that risk!

This is not allowed. The rules are not to mark the paper in any way during reading time...

Quote
A student must not begin to write or mark his or her paper or response material in any way, or use a calculator if one is permitted, until the announcement that writing time has commenced.

Only if you get caught... I don't think they could do any thing if you were fingernailing... It's fairly anonymous

It's against the rules, but you'd never get done for finger nailing the paper, so if it helps then just do it.

I once got told by a teacher that it is good exam technique haha...
