The book says they are observable experiences that occur during sleep. Isn't this obviously wrong cos' in night mares there is no indication of the person experiencing a nightmare.

'Observable' in the sense of 'known to occur (occuring)' rather than actually being watched as it is happening.

almost none. except that they mostly occur in children (but nightmares are more common for females and night terror's are more common in boys). I can't think of any others
