Quickly ways to distinguish glucose, fructose deoxy

Any characteristic bonding is present in each which i can look out for to save a bit of time?

They are all in your logbook ;D
Sucrose is glucose + fructose

At first glance it would be hard to distinguish both and you wouldnt need to (that's why they're in your logbook) but one of the main differences you could look out for is that deoxy is 5-carbon (pentose) and would have a pentagon shape while glucose and fructose have a hexagon shape

Have a look in the data book:

The sucrose molecule is made up of glucose (on the left) and fructose (on the right). If the molecule is hydrolysed they'll both have a hydroxy group where the ether link was.

Fructose has only 4 carbons in the ring and another 2 stuck on the side. Glucose has 5 with one coming off the side. Deoxyribose has 4 in its ring with only one coming off the side. But yeah, they're all in the data book.
