I just want this bloody exam to be over with.

And I can't stop thinking about the fact that somewhere in a building in the city there is a room full of our exams just sitting there.  I keep trying to picture what is going to be on it, or wonder how I can steal a copy lol...

I think about this all the time. Somewhere, beyond the mysterious beyond (yay land before time!) its there. Waiting. Like some beast in the shadows and we the prey. Waiting for its time to strike. Ever cautious. Waiting....

Change of plans for tomorrow.  Ditching study and instead undertaking covert operation to break into my school and steal 1 x Chemistry Exam and 1 x Biology Exam.  Feel free to join me. :P

OH RIGHT.

I've kept on reading things on dilutions and i'm like..... :idiot2:

Dilution is still a correct term to use.

If you dilute the known sample in the burette, you would require a greater volume (titre) to reach the endpoint (to deliver the same amount of mole). However, in your calculations, you would use the ORIGINAL concentration, and so the number of mole of both the known and unknown are calculated as greater than the true value, thus increasing the apparent concentration of the unknown solution.

Stonecold, I don't think that your explanation is completely correct because you are not using all of the solution in the burette, and so the amount of mole in the burette does not affect the titration as such. It is the concentration of solution in the pipette that actually affects the results.
