I put red, and that he shouldn't kill his cat.

fkn hard exam imo. I'm averaging 98% in sacs, and I reckon I'll be lucky to get 75 on that exam.
yeah i put red too cause i thought violet was the best wavelength followed by red..

OMG I came out of that in tatters :( Very hard exam, especially in comparison to the previous years!

For the laundry powder question, they might award more than one answer because if you analyse the question too far, you may have picked the one that worked in alkaline conditions and high temp. I just picked the one that works between 10-30 degrees, based on the fact it is around normal room temperature :S

I picked that the plants absorb red light.... just because it is the complement of green.

For the glycolipid one, i picked glycolipid (lmao) because I thought cholesterol is embedded within the phospholipid bilayer...

In my opinion, WAY too many interpreting information questions, seriously if the exam was anything like the previous years we would have all smashed it really well... but this... :(

Farr, for the porin one, i thought it was an aquaporin thinking it was a hard question, turns out it was just a normal protein channel :/

Would this definition have been too specific? :/
"To regulate and take part in the movement of water molecules across the membrane"
Of course.

For this question I mentioned it was used in facilitated diffusion :S At this point in the exam I was starting to panic! haha but your answer seems alright :)

What questions did ask your doctor?

Ended up asking
What are the side effects/Will it have any changes to my lifestyle
and
Will this fight the disease or just relieve the symptoms

Think those are alright?

Its funny, as soon as i posted this, i got an question on a practice chem exam about Coeliac disease and gluten :P

the laundry powder question was  ( a) the answer with 10-30 degrees or whatever
ignore the degrees ... i mean .. it said the PH aswell .. and dirt needed alkali substances to destroy it .. look at your laundry powder .. it will say dirt needs alkali stuff
hence .. answer A was the only one with a ph that made it a base

personally i think the question was too much chemistry .. but at the same time .. people argue that its biology through the temperature since enzymes and what not ... and also because laundry isnt going to run at 120 degrees ....

Three important questions:
1. What did everybody get for the retracting of the crab's eye question?
2. How about the question on those random radioactive particles entering the cell?
3. I really wasn't sure to say about what a ribosome was made of. I think I said protein and something else but I can't even remember what the options were.

I stuffed up the design question though... did the control include mice not given the pellets?
I was reassuring myself I would come back and fix it up but wrote until the very last second...

1. I put the option A, was like, the eye would retract when the hair was touched or something like that
2. Mitochondria and golgi apparatus? :S
3. Where was this question O_O

The crab one was A i believe? If the nerve from the receptor was cut, the eye couldnt retract
I said golgi for the radioactive particles but I'm pretty sure it was ribosomes :/
Ribosome was made of Nucleic acid and protein

I'm not sure on that one but my control was that they were placed in identical environments, fed the same amount of pellets and given the same amount of water to drink

I chose the one where if the sensory neuron was stimulated the eye would retract.

I didnt do a control... lol.
Just had 40 mice, 2 groups, one group with hard tablets, one with soft tablets
Lower percentage weight group in the group with hard tablets support the hypothesis that they retain less energy when they take hard tablets or something
