How do no exams get leaked?  Are they like packed with a full in tact seal and stamp of authenticity and then transported from the VCAA office by buff armorguard dudes haha.

They're kept in a safe until they're distributed apparently.

The VCAA dude gave my teacher a whole pile, but I was too shattered from the exam to even contemplate getting a copy for myself :P

Last year, with my school, they send it to the school prior to the exam day and have a special seal.  When the head invigilator arrives on the day of the exam, they'd check the seal to see if it had been tampered with.  If it has, then the school is in a lot of trouble.  One possible punishment would be that the school loses its right to host exams and all the students will have to sit their exams elsewhere - a potential logistical nightmare as you would presume.

wow, you have a lot of knowledge on this stuff.

what do they do if a leak occurs that can not be confined to a small group of students and the integrity of the whole paper is stuffed?

Yeah, it's annoying sometimes, but when it comes to academic matters, I'm the world's biggest dud.  But when it comes to administrative/applying for things, things are definitely different.

I believe there would be other security measures in place to ensure the safety of the exam paper.  After all, for 10 years since VCAA has been in charge, there haven't been too many breaches in security which indicates that VCAA has a very strict protocol with the management and delivery of exams.

If a very large leak occurred, I believe it would garner a lot of media attention and serious questions would need to be addressed, not to mention that VCAA would be in damage control and their credibility of running the exams would be somewhat tainted.  I'd imagine it would be a mess and you can only hope that it doesn't happen (at least not this year for you).

I remember waiting for my mother to pick me up from the Chem exam outside my school.
Some guy in a truck pulled up with the envelope and ran to the gym.

Mad job!

One of my friends actually knows my school's invigilator. She had said to him that they're in her house under seal and then on the day they are brought to the school and then opened. Not so sure about end of years...would take up a whole room :S
