Can you do Units 1&2 of French in Year 10 itself?
New2VCE:
Hello,
Am asking this Q on behalf of my daughter. She has been studying French since Year 1 and finds the current syllabus quite basic. Is there any way she can accelerate her French VCE? And if the school does not allow this then what options would you recommend?
Ta :)
Abdi:
hey I think she can do an accelerating French class via Distant education which is also recognised by Vcaa..... but it'd be best to check up with distant education.

Also yeah if you'd like in year 12 she can apply for an extension program either at Melbourne University or Monash, and understake French at university level! The extension program is for students that wish to be challenged and are bright! :) LOL the link below is for the extension program for Melbourne Uni and what the pre-requisites for French are!

Hope this helped! :)
Abdi:
oh and in order for her to actually do units one and 2 at year 10 level depends on the school really! so yeah. :)
New2VCE:
Thank you very much Abdi. Have asked her to check in school if that is possible, if not, distance learning appears to be a good option.
Abdi:
no problem! :)
