a discussion of russia

(1/1)

Spreadbury:
my notes are a little sketchy in some places that they should really be quite detailed in and i'm worried that will wreak havoc with my mark in the exam and i'm going over my history holiday homework and there's a few questions i'm not so sure I would do too well on and i'm wondering that if instead of asking for notes people would like to discuss with me (or eachother) the following topics:

-Russo-Japanese War
-Bloody Sunday Massacre
-Kronstadt uprising

there was also a question I know i answered poorly: "how did the growth of the Soviets in the period from 1914-1917 contribute to the fall of the Provisional Government"

to answer it I found I neglected most of 1914-16 and wrote about: soviet order No. 1, July Days, Propaganda causing desertion in the army, Bolsheviks campaigning for an end to the war which would have increased their popularity compared to the Provisional government who wanted to maintain the war effort and the Kornilov Revolt. I would like to know what other people would have put in dare I say; a better answer?

also, how much would we need to know about Post-NEP (such as its effect in the long term, impact on Bolshevik philosophy and the like)

any help is much appreciated. cheers

Spreadbury:
just a follow up to my previous post, does anyone know if there's a chance we'll get asked about Russia after the NEP? I don't mean the implications of the NEP or if we have to analyse whether Russia was better off under Lenin or the Tsar (my teacher goes on about that sort of question sometimes) but actually what Lenin did after the NEP, such as purging party members and all that? thanks
