VCE Checkpoints

Hey guys, I was just wondering whether anyone can tell me what exactly is in the VCE Checkpoints guides? I heard that it contains only past exams. Is this true???????? My guess would be that it's quite pointless to actually buy them since VCAA has all the past exams on the Internet. Can you also please tell me anything else that would me help to prepare for Biology 3/4, Math Methods 3/4 and English 3/4 (I'm not too confident with the English Exam :/)

Thanks :)

I have the legal checkpoints and I rarely use it. Mine is mostly made up of practise questions (some of which are past VCAA exams and some which are not). Personally I'm more interested in books that are more like study guides or summaries/revision notes, so the checkpoints aren't for me.

Although they do have suggested answers at the back which are good if you get stuck.

Question are grouped into topics, which is the only benefit.  It is a pretty good one though.

I've wasted $100+ on them for Unit 3 + 4 Chem and Bio.  I'd say it's worth it though.  Just make sure you skip the questions which appear in the exams you plan to do properly later on.

Also, some of them include their own questions as well as the VCAA ones.  The study cards at the back are somewhat lame IMO.

Depends on the subject.

My software development ones were pretty much past exams organised by topic... didn't even use them.

Chemistry checkpoints have original questions i believe, so they are of some use.

I cant comment on the rest.

Yeah, they're pretty much mainly VCAA questions grouped into topics - do they compose their own questions for the 1/2 checkpoints? Because there clearly aren't VCAA-composed exams for 1/2...
