If you use someone elses notes who got a 50, you would get a lower study score then you would have, if you did your owns notes. By doing your own notes you get better understanding of the course, but if you use them only as a guide I guess they would be beneficial.

VCENotes offers members the opportunity to access a high standard of notes for various subjects. The way that members use the notes they have access to is entirely up to them. Let me remind you however that these notes often include key elements of a topic that some students tend to leave out or pay little attention to. Notes are of a high standard when they are based on the study design in VCE so keep in mind that the notes you have access to probably contain the most relevant information to your subject that could be the difference between a 35 and a 45.

Yeah, the point is to put the resources out there. No one is telling you how to study. You should use the resources in a way that benefits yourself.

ok so when it says notes are from people with 45-50 study scores its wrong then

obviously a cheap attempt at a marketing ploy?

I don't mind that they aren't all from students who gained 45-50 as I agree just because a student got a high study score doesn't mean their notes are the best, nor does it mean someone with a lower score has 'worse' notes. It's just interesting that it says they are when they are not...strange??

Obviously a cheap attempt at a marketing ploy? Excuse you? Have you even LOOKED at any of the entries on the notes system? More than HALF of the notes submitted were from people who achieved study scores of 45-50. Considering that we're just starting out and only have ~40 individual files, that's more than 20 files and roughly more than 70 pages of 45-50 quality notes. I'd say that counts as "pages and pages of notes" submitted by students who obtained 45-50.

... I don't appreciate your tone, especially when you CLEARLY haven't bothered to research the notes. The 45-50 study score notes say so in their description (usually). I advise you not to insult my character like that again.

I have compiled a list of some of these notes for your ignorant pleasure:

There are roughly a dozen entries for Legal Studies from a person who got 50: - http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=info&id=2 (I uploaded them on behalf of the person)
Biology notes AOS2 unit 4 - 50 - http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=download&action=feedback&id=11
English Media Analysis Notes - 50 - http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=download&action=feedback&id=52
Literature notes - 50 - http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=download&action=feedback&id=19 and
Psych notes - 50 - http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=download&action=feedback&id=18 and a 50 quality ERA: http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=download&action=feedback&id=17
MM CAS notes - 45 - http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=download&action=feedback&id=62 and http://notes.vcenotes.com/?step=download&action=feedback&id=57

You want more?

...

You really need to calm down and not get so defensive so quickly. If you took the time to actually consider my posts rather than jumping to the defense you would see I asked about the notes system and the statement first and received responses from others implying the statement was inaccurate. Then I commented that it was inaccurate, that this was strange and came to the conclusion that for the site to have an inaccurate statement on the main page there must be a reason - for example maybe it was a marketing tactic - as ASKED in my post. These were all reasonable assumptions based on information that this forum provided me - nowhere did I just jump to a conclusion before asking first. A simple "no, it's not a marketing ploy" would have sufficed and encoruage a friendlier community environment.

I'm actually not interested in you posting links to notes thanks as I clearly said in my previous post "I don't mind that they aren't all from students who gained 45-50 as I agree just because a student got a high study score doesn't mean their notes are the best, nor does it mean someone with a lower score has 'worse' notes."

btw what is BoS and why would I be a spy for them? Are they a tutoring company that sells notes or something?

VCENotes is a rip-off from BoS (a better version that is).
BoS also has notes, except they cost money.

BoS doesn't have VCE Notes. They're only for HSC. They simply tacked a forum onto the end of their site to gain the monopoly. And yes, Mao is right, VCENotes isn't doing that much different from BoS, we just have faster servers and what I think is a more accessible notes system.

How does it justify any of what you said? You said "hero members" are intimidating towards new members. That has no bearing on anything I said up there. :-/
