Yeah, neurons are pretty much irrelevant to the year 12 course. They were part of unit 2 content. I doubt you would be asked anything on the exam relating to a neuron.

I guess it would be good to know about them in relation to the study design dot point on the divisions of the nervous system. That is, that they are a key element of the somatic nervous system, in that are responsible for transmitting sensory information to the CNS (sensory neurons) and then carrying information back from the CNS to control the voluntary functioning of muscles (motor neurons).  You definitely wouldn't need to know the individual parts of the neuron though.

my school uses the nelson psychology book and that is good. It has nothing on what your talkiing about, so it couldnt be on the exam lol. Maybe if your teacher specifically told you to know this it could on the sac, but wont be on the exam.

yeah i know its not on the exam lol. but it is for our sac. my teacher just wants us to be familiar with the terms :) Shes an awesome teacher
