Would I be able to structure the course in such a way that would allow me to satisfy prereqs for ME(Biomedical), ME(Mechanical) AND ME(Mechatronics)?

You probably could structure it so you could pursue either mechanical or mechatronics, but it seems unlikely that you'd get into biomedical that way. Most of your science subjects (except in 1st year) are taken up by engineering subjects so you can't fit biomed subjects in there. Also not sure but I don't think biomed subjects count as breadth. Look on the website if you can otherwise attend the open day or hope someone else can answer it better

No you can't structure your course to have prerequisites for all three Engineering majors

If you do a Mechanical systems major you would be eligible for both Mechanical and Mechatronics, but I don't believe having Biomedical eng prereqs as well is possible

Ahh thats crap

So essentially the Melbourne Model doesn't provide any more benefits?
It just essentially took away the option of having double degrees, didn't it?

In the case of the BS, you pretty much have to choose which direction you want to head into from your very first year!

Hmm I'm under the impression you "really" choose your major in second year. All you need is ESD1, ESD2, Calculus 2 and Linear Algebra in first year and then you can choose any Systems major in second year. I think that was the point of introducing the ESD subjects - to give you a form of common first year.

Yes however it's pointless if you already know what stream of engineering to do. My friend currently does those subjects and says he feels sorry for the chemical engineering because ESD only spends briefly on fluid mechanics for chemical engineering whilst those students have to endure through the other streams. This is one reason I'm glad I chose Monash over Melbourne and got to spend a full semester doing just chemical engineering :)
