"No too hard"
"100% wrong"

Two phrases you will hear too many times.

SO TRUE...also

"this...year 8, year nine maths"
"perimural"
"you may argue"
"this is not careless error"
"wector" (vector)

gotta love his fobby accent :P

Hahahaha, and also his peculiar analogies, often involving Box Hill and Melbourne High. xD

Thought i would share this with you guys this is from the Dr He fb group . :P

For those who are currently enrolled in or have once attended DHMC (Dr He Maths Coaching).

You know you belong to this group if you:

- Barely passed the entrance exam and felt terrible because you had never in your entire life gotten such a low mark before

- Eventually got used to the low marks

- Did your homework the day before/on the day/in the car to your class

- Got owned by his homework

- Looked at the top scorers board every week before entering the classroom. (You secretly hoped to have your name up there at least once)

- Noticed on the top scorers board that his son is always up there and is owning the rest of the class by an average of 20%.

- Realized that everyone in your class is Asian

- Realized that everyone in your class will probably be doctors or lawyers some day

- Can remember the words
'Localmaximumisnotthemaximum'
in that fobby accent because it has been drilled into your brain already ...

- Yet you still can't bother to apply it in your homework/school outcomes (and even in the exam)

- Remember his jokes and his weird analogies

- Dreaded his trial exams that were usually twice as long as the normal VCAA exams

- Found it amusing that he bagged the heck out of day-school teachers

- listened as he labeled his daughter as "less gifted in maths" even though she was on the top scorer board at least once ever 2 weeks

- listened as he reminisced of the days when he was a professional mathemetician

lol np, ummm btw for those stressing about the entrance exam, if you have done well in maths competitions, you don't need to do the entrance exam, refer to the enromlemnt info i attached.

Distinction in Australian Mathematics Competition,
or Merit in Melbourne University Mathematics Competition,
or Distinction in Australian Mathematical Olympiad,
or score of 40% in the DHMC Entry Exam,
or (for Level 5 only) raw score 40 in the VCE mathematical methods exam.

gets you into the general class and

Prize in Australian Mathematics Competition,
or Outstanding in Melbourne University Mathematics Competition,
or High Distinction in Australian Mathematical Olympiad,
or score of 60% in the DHMC Entry Exam,
or (for Level 5 only) raw score 45 in the VCE mathematical methods exam.

for the challange class

i'm sorry i can't comment of the actual exam as i got in bcs i got in on a fluke westpac score :P
LOL there's no such thing as "distinction" and "high distinction" on the AMO anymore. :P
There may never have been. In 1991, the gold/svr/bronze certs were implemented.
I got in pretty easily too haha didn't take the entrance exam or whatever it is, though I don't go to DHMC anymore.

Tip: Show FULL working out. ;p
LOL YES, he takes marks off for every single little working out detail you leave out... even if it is unnecessary anyway.

Assuming you're trying out for next year's classes, are you intending to apply for Methods 3/4 (Level 3) or Specialist (Level 4, I believe)? Yeah, has anyone here actually done the entrance exams? :D
