Russ:
So you can actually, yknow, apply to UoM...
If they're not high enough, put Deakin or Monash at preference 1. If they are, put UoM at preference 1.
I fail to see why you think taking the prereq subjects is a bad idea...you're not locked into applying to UoM and you can only have more choice this way.

The second year anatomy, physiology, biochemistry units needed for dentistry, medicine etc are covered, 100% sure
So if you decide to end up doing eng, monash is 4 years, melb is 6
with medicine and those pgrad courses, monash and melb courses converge and you end up with same course anyway.
so if you're unsure, i'd say biomed/eng cos then you can get a taste of both at the same time before you pick one, whereas at melb, you don't get to taste eng until you enter into the pgrad and then if you don't like it, you'll waste more time and money transferring out
--- End quote ---
but i checked the prereques and it only covers 2 in materials and civil ... but the last subject that is needed is done in third year instead of 2nd.... does that mean that it is still covered?
--- End quote ---
Yeah that doesn't matter, the 3 subjects are still done, doesn't matter 2nd or 3rd year... you could do them in your 20th year even
